Now if we talk about language, every language has its own phrase; similarly, the German language has its own slang words and phrases. Every time we can’t go for huge long words so people adapt a habit of using slangs. Like for learning the German language, we have to join a particular language institute and go through the big broad books; but every time it is not necessary to take books; sometimes we need to take a break from the textbooks and learn German slang words and phrases with fun.

1 Prost – if you guys are in Germany and planning to have a drink then you should know this word, as it is used while clicking the glasses in German to do cheers.

2 Na- ‘Na’ Is a slang word that is used for greeting person, basically, it is an informal way of saying hello in Germany.

3-Naja- like in English we use to say ‘well’ while communicating, for e.g. ‘well’ done; similarly, in Germany they use naja.

4-Alda/Alta- these two words are taken from hip hop culture basically has its origin from the hip-hop world, it is used the way we use “dude” in India, basically to attain attention. There is one more word; Alter which means the same and alter is the original word, which is now pronounced as Alda/ Alta. 

5-Moin- it means “Hi” basically it is used to greet someone over text, as it is an informal way of greeting, basically it is used by the northern part of Germany.

6-Kohle – this is one of the important slang words that you should know if you are about to shift in Germany, Kohle means money, this is particularly used when you are broke, or cashless.
